Danish Refugee Council's efforts against landmines and unexploded ordnance
Danish Refugee Council is committed to mine action. We do this by clearing land contaminated by landmines and unexploded ordnance. Often in some of the world's most conflict-ridden areas.
Our goal is to reduce the threat from landmines, cluster munitions and explosive remnants of war. We also work to reduce the dangers associated with the storage and circulation of weapons. In addition, we also work to mitigate and manage tensions that can lead to conflict.
We raise awareness of the threats, restore trust, facilitate dialogue, prevent conflict and promote cooperation. We support communities threatened by conflict and its aftermath. We do this by, among other things, ensuring the rights of civilians and their protection from attacks and weapons proliferation.
Our work is guided by the duty to respect, protect and fulfill people's right to life, safety and security.
